They have taught dance together in Cardiff since 1995 and started out by working for the late Harry Marks who trained them as his apprentices, whilst also teaching for Cardiff County Council, Viva, Living Well, The Metropolitan Club and the University of Glamorgan. They have led dance holidays for HF Holidays Ltd., and in 2002 were dance professionals on the "QE2" cruise-liner.
They started their own dance business in 1997/98 and have built it up from a single dance class, shortly after adding mat work Pilates classes to the timetable as well.
Their Dance teaching qualifications are in Ballroom, Latin American Dance and Country & Western Dance. Caroline is a Ballet teacher and a Freestyle Dance teacher too.
Their Pilates mat work qualifications are with the Body Control Pilates Association ® (BCPA). Rob was one of the first Pilates mat work instructors to work in Wales. He has taught his mat classes since 2000 and Caroline has been teaching Pilates here since 2006.
Both later completed a comprehensive Studio teacher training with Gordon Thomson and Ellie Ioannidou in Pilates Reformer, Cadillac and Chair apparatus from 2009 to 2013. They qualified to teach Studio work after completing their training with Gordon Thomson's Body Control Pilates ® Organisation Ltd.
They opened The Pilates Studio Rhiwbina in 2015 to teach Pilates apparatus work as well as continue to teach their mat classes.
Having taught a wide variety of movement related classes over many years, now they concentrate on teaching adults both Pilates, and Ballroom and Latin American social dancing in Cardiff. What ever they are teaching they aim to bring out the best of their client's movement potential in enjoyable and rewarding ways.
