We have been teaching our own Ballroom and Latin American Dance classes in Cardiff since 1997/8 .
You can learn with us from complete beginner level up, either by joining a group class or if you prefer by taking private lessons (available daytime or evenings from Tuesdays to Fridays).
In our Dance classes we will both be on hand to teach you so you will benefit from the experience of two teachers and get tuition from both the leader and follower’s perspective. As a couple we ourselves learned Ballroom and Latin American Dance together as adults, from beginner level upwards, so we understand how you are likely to feel throughout the learning process and aim to help and guide you as much as we can along the way.
Our main Dance program runs in the lovely village of Gwaelod-y-Garth in North Cardiff.
Group classes on Tuesdays , Wednesdays and Thursdays are held at The Village Hall
(a spacious hall with off road parking for hall users, just a few minutes drive from A470 and M4/J32).
AND we also teach
at Canolfan Community Church Centre, Rhiwbina, Cardiff for private lessons.

New Beginners Courses –
can be started throughout the year the next start end of September
Although small ( usually 8 couples maximum) these are often our most popular classes for people wanting to get started.
Courses run progressively to let you build up your basic dancing skills. If you are starting off with no experience, by the end you should be able to dance a short sequence of basic steps in at least 4 or 5 dances (waltz, quickstep, social foxtrot, cha-cha, rumba etc.).
New courses start throughout the year. Contact us if you want more information on how joining our new to you class works or if you prefer to take 1-1s.
Improvers weekly group
class on Tuesdays at 7.15pm, term times throughout the year.
This is a class for those who have covered the basics at beginner level (either with us or elsewhere) and want to continue dancing .
We teach more steps and add extra dances (e.g. tango, jive etc.).
If you have previous basic experience and want to join us at this level (for example you are new to Cardiff or you have left another class or are looking to re-start dancing after a break) speak to us first, to check if this class is going to be suitable for you as it has been running for a number of years now.
Intermediates weekly group class on Wednesdays at 8.00pm, term times throughout the year.
This is our most advanced group class. We aim to improve on dance technique, add some more difficult dances (e.g. slow foxtrot, samba, salsa ) and include more varied choreography. If you are looking for a class to join at this level it is best to speak to us first, to check if this class will be suitable.
Private tuition/ 1 to 1s . Since the pandemic we find many people prefer not to join us weekly for a regular group class and like to learn at their own pace, at times that work for them. We offer private appointments at different times throughout the week. You can start your own beginner course at any time of the year.
Bespoke wedding dance choreography and tuition. We teach couples preparing for their first dance, and love to help them step on the dance floor for that special occasion, with confidence. All couples learn to perform a routine that is made to measure especially for them .
Semi-private classes can be arranged for small groups of friends and family.
Other dance events such as short courses, dancing parties for special occasions, or short workshops for schools or businesses may be arranged on request.
Dance is now one of the most popular UK leisure pastimes and millions attend a class each week. Popular trends may come and go but Dance itself always evolves and is here to stay!
Research shows dancing helps keep the mind sharp, improves balance, posture, fitness and, can even help to improve the quality of your life.
Dancers can become lighter on their feet and develop quicker-thinking. Learning to lead and follow, couples can improve their communication skills too, and if you choose to learn with others in a group class it can also be a great boost to your social life too.
Most people that join our classes prefer to take up dancing as a hobby, strictly for enjoyment with no pressure to take tests.
We try to organise a couple of events throughout the year that all our classes may join in, to meet up socially and enjoy dancing together (social distancing permitting).

– As a popular gift idea, you can book a private lesson or pre-paid block of lessons to be given to someone special (or even better shared with them) as a gift.
